Tattoos are so great because they can help people with bad self esteem to see their bodies as the pieces of art they always were.

I Missed You

Sometimes Kat is at work, simply composing a tweet to announce Scarlet’s latest contest when it hits her: Adena’s perfume. She remembers so well the sweet, floral scent of it— she can almost smell it as if Adena is standing right in front of her. The words on the screen in front of her are long forgotten, and it is not until Sutton and Jane are coming to her desk to bring her a smoothie that she finally snaps back to reality.

Other times it’s the little things, like walking down the river where they had their first date or going back to restaurants where they shared amazing food and stories together that the thought of her consumes her mind completely.

Adena is also everywhere in Kat’s apartment. She thinks about her when she pours coffee in the Disney mug that Adena always used. She remembers the night that Adena admitted to never have been to Disney World, and Kat promised to bring her there one day. She thinks about her when snuggling under the same blanket that they were cuddled under when watching a marathon of Friends, eating Kat’s special peanut butter sriracha popcorn.

And then, when the night comes and Kat is lying in bed on the same sheets where they both laid naked together, Kat can’t help but think about the softness of Adena’s skin, the curve of her breasts, and her thighs closing around her head as she comes undone. During those nights of reminiscing, Kat can’t help but slid her hand down her own body…

Adena is everywhere and it’s intoxicating.

Kat is happy with Tia. She’s a great woman. She’s smart. She’s beautiful. She has a great heart. But it just doesn’t compare. Tia doesn’t not make her whole world turn the same way that Adena does.

So she ends it.

And the first thing she does after is knock on Adena’s apartment door. Adena opens the door and sees Kat face and she doesn’t need any explanation.

Kat’s face is full of lust and before she even has time to say a word, Kat pushes her inside until her back hits the glass wall, kissing her hard.

“I missed you,” Adena says, panting as she struggles to take her shirt off.

“I missed you too.” There is so much that Kat wants to say, but she settles with that as the urgency to kiss Adena overcomes her. She no longer has to daydream now, the person she wants most in the world is right in front of her.
